Healthy Herbal Teas!!

Tea is a great way to wind down, to feel fresh, or even to feel alive for some people.

If you follow me on social media or have consulted me, you might know I am not a fan of the "fit-tea" gimmick that acts like weight loss is some miracle. It is not a true claim — there is no magic or instant solution to weight loss.

Don't get me wrong, I love teas, and modern science has begun to find evidence supporting some of the traditional uses of herbal teas as well. Herbal teas have been around in India for centuries.

Below is a list of some delicious teas you can incorporate into your daily life:

Chamomile Tea

Known for its calming properties. Studies have shown patients suffering from insomnia found marginal improvement in waking up during the night, time to fall asleep, and daytime functioning after consuming chamomile tea. Chamomile tea is even believed to have anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.

Ginger Tea

Ginger tea is definitely one of my favourites to add to my routine. It's a spicy and flavourful drink, but that's not all — it's packed with health benefits. Ginger tea helps fight inflammation and stimulates the immune system. It also relieves indigestion and constipation, and has shown results in easing and relieving period pain in females.

Hibiscus Tea

Hibiscus is a red/pink flower very commonly found in India. This flower, in the form of tea, has lots of healthful properties — hibiscus tea has anti-viral properties and has also been shown to have effects on high blood pressure.

Sage Tea

Sage tea is known for its medicinal properties. It helps improve mood, mental functioning and memory in adults. It is also said to improve blood lipid levels, though more research is ongoing in this area.

Bottom line

All you tea lovers — you can enjoy these herbal teas, which are free of sugar and calories but loaded with lots of health-promoting effects. If these reasons aren't enough to go and enjoy a cup of tea, I don't know what is! :)
